Yes, writing like a crazed thing--writing and dumping stuff, but writing!

So, in between the SV fic that eats my brain, I've been noodling around with that SpN thing I keep talking about but showing nothing. So today, Sam decides that his part of the story should be in first person, which is kind of creepy, but I'm more comfortable with that than I have been and in fact, it's kind of fun. What's hard is keeping the tone right. Why Sam instead of Dean I have no idea. I'm just letting it go where it wants for now—no editing at all. I read that it's best tot write while the writing's good and worry about editing later—good advice for obsessive tinkerers (?) like me. I can't read anything I've done without dicking around with it.

So, I've been working away on Sam's part and Dean's part has been not exactly languishing but most of it is being written in my head, heh! Also, Dean is about to be partnered with Angel…remember Angel? Buffy's Angel—or Spike's Angel, depending on your flavor? Yeah, you think that's odd? Try Sam and Charles. Yes, that's right, I said it. This thing will never see the light of day if I don’t finish it. There's no way in hell I'd ever post this as a WIP. It's too fucking weird. But let me tell you guys—so much fun!! Most of it is still spread out in a couple of different notebooks and the back of shift change forms…*happysigh* I kind of like wild stories like this.

Aaaand speaking of stories, I'm about to do something so fucked up to my favorite character, it's making me a little nutty. *shrug* It's this thing I do. I was nuts the whole time I wrote my weird little Russian story, all kinds of whacky stuff happened and I was constantly worried it was too gross—imagine my shock to find out it was kinda mild to most folks, and Clark and Lex behaved pretty badly. And The Dog—lawks! I sweat blood agonizing over that one—that *was* kind of a fucked up story though…I just don't want to disappoint folks too much.

Most of you know shit's going to hit the fan right?

I'm just trying to make myself feel better, that's all. *G*

Completely random and brought on by today's mini marathon on Sci-Fi, Dark Angel is a compelling, fascinating, highly entertaining show any time Alec is on the screen…just saying.

Fun facts! For new people, or nosy folks like me--ask me anything, and I will answer truthfully. As far as you know...*G*

This is the elderly puppy who's been doing his best to kill me by sleeping on the stairs in the dark. Isn't he cute? Sort of?

LOL! your icon!

Well, calling it writing at this point is probably giving it airs, but yeah, in a slow motion way I am--I ought to finish it by the time all interest in the fandom has dropped away. *G*

See, you think the same way I do--Sam and Gunn are easy to see together because of Sam and Wes' similarities. And Dean and Angel just makes me laugh out loud--besides, we know Angewl has a thing for the little ones--Buffy, Spike, Lindsey....

See, now you have me seeing Angel character types in ALL the SPN characters. Observe:

SPN as Angel characters

Sam=Wesley: supersmart, good at demon research, combine endearing clumsiness with ruthlessness and ability to do whatever needs to be done; will go into hell to save someone they love

John=Angel: wants to help people, but really more driven by a need that comes out of their past history; occasionally makes decisions driven by past loves/hates that hurt the whole team; prone to isolating themselves from the team in the hopes of "protecting" them (but really hurting them more)

Dean=Cordelia. Ok, Sam is the one with visions, and also the one with hopes for a different life so he could be Cordelia, but on the other hand Dean, like Cordy, is the pragmatic one, the pretty one, the one who accepts a demonic destiny to save others (and who ultimately ends up getting sacrificed for it). The other option, of course, is Dean=Charles: tough demon hunter, basically raised his younger sibling, a natural leader but also very able to work in groups; the only reason I don't really like this parallel is because Charles had to kill his younger sibling when she went evil. (*Sob*)

Bela=Lilah. Ok, not quite as cool as Lilah, or played by as good of an actress, but still: beautiful woman who can be a temporary ally but always is looking out for number one; Sam/Wesley is attracted to the bad girl thing

Ruby=Lindsey: the former bad guy/girl who still has a bit of a conscience, and works to help out the good guys, even if s/he definitely has an agenda of his/her own

Ellen=Lorne: runs a bar where the hunting/demonic underworld hang out and can meet and greet; very good judge of character

I'm not honestly sure if Bobby has a parallel, though. (Fred? Maybe? Just for their expert knowledge?)

Dean=Charles--but yes! Which is also why Sam and Charles make a good fit! Which wasn't a conscious thought on my part but my subconscious is so much smarter. *G*

Bobby...hmmm. I can't think of a good one either--except for Buffy's Giles. Father figure, definitely had a rough past but he's straightened out and now lives for the job.

I think your other comparisons are spot on too--though you creeped me out with John/Angel--it's a good one but I'm throwing Dean at Angel. *G* And wow--Ruby as Lindsey works perfectly!

OOH! Love your Henriksen icon!

Dean can be Charles as long as he is Charles with the HAPPY rather than sad ending vis-a-vis siblings.

(And re: Dean/Angel....I suppose they'd be sending me to the special hell if I admitted to reading some Dean/John, right? I mean, most of the time I find it unlikely, but in certain extremely fucked up AUs it makes a certain kind of sense. I have those tags privatized on delicious, but I suppose since I'm admitting it publically I might as well unprivatize them).

*blinks*

Weeeeeeell, goodness, little lady...actually, I'm sure there are good ones. I read one that had some kind of Dean/John implied sort of, but it made sense for the story and I didn't even speed-read it.

Roxy, darlin', how in the world can you call Dean little under any stretch of the imagination? That boy has an incredible build and is around the same height as Angel.

I know he's a couple inches shorter than Sammy but little?

LOL! Oh my god, you're right! I just looked it up and his bio says 6'1"! What does that say about me that I make him shorter? It's just that even guys six feet look short next to guys as tall as Sam. *shakes head* But not that short. I guess I need to actually look at *both* the boys when they're standing side by side. *g*
