Geez, I miss John Candy. I miss Johnny LaRue so much. My sister had a frog puppet she named Johnny LaRue. I wonder what happened to him? We used to talk to him a lot--the frog puppet, not Johnny LaRue. Yeah, like that makes it less crazy.

Ah, holidays, they make me kind of maudlin. Folks are posting wish-lists and stuff and reminding me that Christmas is coming. Oy. This year I took a solemn vow not to go nuts, so wish me luck with that. Also, this year I let everyone know to seriously downscale their expectations as I'm not Rockefeller. I think everyone is happy with the idea. Now, what I'm going to do is teach myself to knit, and make presents for the Fam. I figure how hard can it be to learn, and with enough steel wool, I can knit everyone a car.

OMG! I can't believe I can't find a damn thing on Johnny LaRue! John Candy played this guy who was an awful human being who didn't get that he was an awful human being. He was a...like cable talk show host or something, who wore a smoking jacket smoked all the time and boozed it up. He did things like having a cooking show for seniors, and gave them recipes using cat-food...trust me, it was funny. And frog Johnny was funny too and we loved him so much. :) I really miss my sis doing stuff like that--she was fucking hysterical with that puppet!

I hate the holidays actually. But I fake it well ;)


Aw, but that sucks! They drive me nuts, but there's parts of it I love, and the little Fam has gone a long way to curing me of the horrors of childhood holidays. Mom tried hard but sometimes, oy vey!

I miss John Candy, too. Especially this time of year. 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' is my fave Thanksgiving movie. Even if it makes me cry.

I know! I adored SCTV! my sister was the one who got me hooked on it. She called me one night at 2 in the morning and told me check out this show, omg so funny. Heee! I thought it was one of the funniest shows ever, still do.
