California Sun is turning into a shmoopy piece of shmoopness--what the bloody fuck!!
So, ever reread your own stuff and think holy shit, that is the worst piece of shit I've ever had the displeasure to clap eyes on--especially when you remember it as being pretty good? On the flip side of that, there's one story I have that I reread once a year since writing it, mostly because it was the weirdest, most out there thing I've ever written, and usually my reaction is "oy--the pain". But I reread it yesterday and you know, I think it's a damn good story, and it worked even though back then, I thought it didn't. I'd go so far as to say it's the best story I've ever written. It made me feel pretty good, but it also kind of made me feel a little failery, because I don't think I've written anything as good since. And that was three years ago. *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*
On the upside, I continue to be as cute as a bug's ear, heck yeah. Continuing to share the good stuff with you, I had a most delicious plum! Sweet and tart and juicy. Don't you hate buying a pretty plum and having it taste and feel like biting into a hockey puck? Yeah.....
Oh well. Back to Dean and Pat making googly eyes at each other. Saps.
ETA: the story is Deal

7/8/09 11:25 pm (UTC)The story was called Deal and it's kind of an SF/Torture Lex/threesome featuring an OMC sort of with extra added esp hookup/JDClark...oh, and it starts off with Lex playing Santa Claus to hookers. It sounds horrible, but it ended up being a damn good story. That one I'd love for more people to read.

*steals your plums and runs away with them* All the plums around here either taste like cardboard or are so tart they're bitter. >.>
And yes of course you're cute! You gotta be cute to torture the boys, you know. Spawn of Evil rules. *nod-nod-nod-giggle-snort-laugh*
Good luck with your story! *Hugs you*

7/9/09 03:04 am (UTC)OMG, you are delusional.
*flails at you*
I love a good plum! I haven't had one in a while. I really, really, really want some good, crisp, sweet rich-pink watermelon. The stuff at the store is all pale and hard. Blech.
delusional? hunh. that explains so much....
7/9/09 03:20 am (UTC)Um...I'm writing the shmoop now? Oh, okay--it's my brand of shmoop! It's going to get shmoopier? Pat and Dean make a connection...of some kind?
Oh man, we just had the best watermelon--crisp and sweet and that perfect shade. It's rare to get a good one from the store. I hated to share it--I mean--we all enjoyed it. Except for my dad, who won't eat watermelon, or fried chicken out. Or wear jeans--he says jeans are for field-hands. *LOL*
Re: delusional? hunh. that explains so much....
7/9/09 03:27 am (UTC)*is grumpy*
Heeeeee. I hate sharing a good watermelon, too.
And your dad! Well, i can kinda understand his reasoning, since he's an older guy. People probably gave him too much shite over it.
*people suck*
I don't think i ever saw my dad in jeans. He wore a cover-all when he mowed the grass and stuff, but pretty much it was always slacks. And track suits when he was older.
Maybe when he was a kid, but they would have been 'dungarees'. :)
Re: delusional? hunh. that explains so much....
7/9/09 03:38 am (UTC)Ooooooo! I need to use that in a story! One without the broken, bleeding, angsty loneliness..*koff*
Re: delusional? hunh. that explains so much....
7/9/09 03:49 am (UTC)I could never spit the seeds very far. Now, you can hardly buy 'em with seeds.
Yeah, how 'bout a story with some *love* and some *happiness* and some pretty boys having un-guilty sex!!!
I mean, sheesh.
*people who don't know me must think i'm a total bee-yotch*
:)

7/9/09 04:01 pm (UTC)Pat is Tom Welling--I stole him from SV, screwed him up and dropped him in my story. I have a bad habit of writing Tom into my SpN. :)
