We had a big scare Monday. The nursing home I'm struggling to keep my dad in--another story in itself--called to let me know they were sending my dad to the ER, that he'd been vomiting and had a fever.

I get to the ER and find a mess--Dad's freaking out and no one will really tell me what's going on. I spend large amounts of time in the hallway until I finally get some answers. Seemed he had a kidney stone, it blocked the duct from the kidney, led to infection and that of course made all kinds of problems and the doctor told me I should call the family together, that he was almost certainly not going to make it.

I did that, but I had the feeling that my pop wasn't going anywhere and I was right. Today, he's out of the ICU and probably going to go home tomorrow or the next day.

Okay, so here's the thing--the man is 90 years old and swears that any minute, he's about to stroke out. You know what I think? He's gonna be around for a looooooong time. He's like that Cosby routine, that one Cos used to do when he was still funny, about the old men sitting around saying, "Guess I won't be around much longer"--those guys who outlive everyone. ;)

Awwww, *HUGS YOU TIGHT* You have been on a rollercoaster ride, but I'm very happy to hear your Pop is on the mend. And heheheeheh, he seems like he's quite stubborn, but in the best of ways. :)

*hugs again*

Oh yeah--he's stubborn in the pain in the ass way too, lol! Finally--stubborn's working for him! :)

It's been kind of nuts--thanks so much for the hugs, Ferd! And if you have a Target near you, girl--look in the men's t-shirt department! ;)
