You know when folks tell you back your shit up, and you say, 'yeah, yeah, sure I will--tomorrow.' Well, tomorrow never comes, or rather it comes when you least expect it. All my shit is looooooost. I cry bitter fucking tears, my friends.

I lost everything last year due to a virus (and the killing part was that I didn't back up anything despite having a external harddrive still in the box ), but the computer place I took it too recovered pretty much everything. What I lost permanently were the program files that I had to reinstall, but the rest was retrieved, although some was corrupted.

I used this program to restore files I accidentally deleted on my thumbdrive and it worked.

Perhaps, maybe, just maybe if you did a System Restore to an earlier date it'd undue the possible virus? System Restore is my equivalent of Superman turning the world backwards.
