You know when folks tell you back your shit up, and you say, 'yeah, yeah, sure I will--tomorrow.' Well, tomorrow never comes, or rather it comes when you least expect it. All my shit is looooooost. I cry bitter fucking tears, my friends.

God I feel for you! I experienced something similar a few years ago, my entire harddrive crashed. Wouldn't boot, wouldn't even access through another computer. It was a short in one of the circuits and unfortunately I did have to send it to one of those specialists.

A few weeks later a friend of mine experienced the same thing, only hers was due to a husband that was cheating on her and was randomly deleting files to "hide his tracks" and all of her digital photos of her babies were lost.

I ended up using Recuva on her system since it wasn't a physical crash like mine. And it did manage to find all of her pictures as well as a *lot* of his. Maybe it'll help you find some files on yours if it's not a physical error.

I wonder if that's what happened to me! I'm having the same problems you did. At least I know it wasn't a cheating hubby, mine is mine alone. Plus, you know, I'd have to kill him really hard if he messed up like *that*, lol!
