what makes me happy
11/28/11 09:36 pmIt's been kind of crappy in roxyland lately, stuff happening, me being an asshole--it's not been pretty. but there's something that makes me happy, shallow and self-centered it may be. What the hell--it makes me smile. At the AO3, (yes, my happy place--well, my alternate happy place) This story, The Persistence of Vision which some of you might remember, has gathered 99 hits. Why, you ask, does such a paltry collection of hits make you happy MizzRose? Well, I'll tell you. I didn't expect anyone to read a seriously dub-con Lex/Whitney story. I've written Clark/Whitney because it's almost logical, right? But Lex and Whit, not so much. As it turned out, they worked pretty well, even without sandwiching Clark between them (can i get a OT3?)
Also, omg, how did I not know I spelled persistence wrong??!!! How did no one tell me...*headslap*
'xuse me while i whip this spellcheck out...BRB
Okay! So, I was going to go on about why I thought Lex and Whit worked so well, but it boils down to Whit being the ultimate victim in my canon, and for reasons that have more to do with me and not the Show. That's part of the fanfic fun, though, right, twisting canon in a way that people will accept. In our world, if you say it often enough, it becomes true. Oh, wait a min, that's pretty much a universal, isn't it? *G*
Here's to hoping LJ will someday cough up my notifications, and lets me post shit.

11/29/11 09:01 pm (UTC)Actually, I asked two people yesterday if I should try watching Smallville and they both told me, 'no, it's terrible'. But I want so much Mike Rosenbaum as Lex that it's a physical ache.

12/2/11 04:18 am (UTC)Smallville wasn't really terrible, it was just...well, sort of random when it came to continuity and logic. Lex was so incredibly beautiful that I watched the show strictly for the Lex parts and in fact some eps I would fast forward through anything that wasn't Lex or Lex/Clark, or Lex&Lionel, his dad. God, the scenes with those two together were incredible and full of hints of awful dirty wrongness...*happy nostalgic sigh* And then there was that one season when that godawful twink no talent Jensen Ackles suddenly showed up on my SHOW, WTF??!! LOL!!!! Man, what a change from DA to Supernatural!
So, yeah, the first few seasons when it's mostly Clark and Lex are well worth watching and the last two seasons--Tom Welling really brought it those last two years. :)
