This is the third time my dad's been sent back to the ER from his nursing home. I'm about to head out there now. I'm feeling some stress about this, and it's kicking up all my physical problems. I don't think I can spend all night in the ER again.

ETA: ♥ you guys, thank you *so* so much. I appreciate your good wishes and your excellent advice. I'll answer you all tomorrow, and hopefully will have some better idea about my dad. Thank you again. *HUUUUUUUGS*

What would I do without you all?

Ah, bb.
*hugs*

Okay, what happens in the ER? Is he sedated? Are you sitting with him, or is he off somewhere and you're waiting? Does he talk, wanting someone there, or is he dozing, in pain, testy?

You don't *have* to be there. Go and see what's what, see if he's comfortable, talk to him a little, and then *go home*. Exhausting yourself and kicking your own health issues into high gear isn't a helpful *or* a good thing.

He knows you love him, bb - you can still love him at home. Go see him in the morning, again, that's all.
*hugs you tight*

All good thoughts.

Good, good advice. I will take it. I had a little bit of a meltdown last night and of course it all fell out over Mr. R who, thank goodness is a man of common sense and extreme patience. I didn't even think I was handling it not so well, I just felt sooooooo tired, and a little grumpy. I just call the ICU and he's still where he was last night, still sedated. I'm heading off to work in a few and I'll stop in after to see him.

I don't know if I'm just avoiding the idea but I can't believe he won't recover.

*hugs more*

The 'wait and see' game is the worst there is. Try not to exhaust yourself. It'll be okay. I'm here if you need *anything* i can give, okay? Don't hesitate.
