I fell off the earth for a minute, but I'm back! I rewatched Show to see if I missed anything and it was even more awesome the second time around! Don't judge me but I'm feeling the Benny/Dean so hard! Which means that Benny's going to turn out to be a back-stabbing, stalker/user, blood-sucking monster out to wreck Dean's life.

I'm off to respond to comments I've received, and stalk other folks LJs for their Show Watch Feels. Whooo-ha!

Whoo hooo, indeed!

I understand what you're saying, but frankly - I can't be having with the people who pick Show to pieces and hate on half of what's going on and find *nothing* to be happy about. Not only does it baffle me, but it just seems incredibly pointless.

Does Show have some issues? Sure - but then again, it's TV. It's basic, most elemental purpose is to make money, and for many reasons, that comes with a specific set of rules right now. It's also written to appeal to and be understood by the lowest common denominator, basically, so it can grab the biggest market. Yes, writers have some leeway, and some shows are a lot smarter than others, but they can't be *so* smart that people don't get them.

And the number of times i see people commenting on how confused they were/are over a plot point or action, it's obvious that the 'anvils'? Aren't always anvils to everybody.

So i wallow in the joy of a show with two brothers who would and have died for each other, who have betrayed trusts and defeated demi-gods and gods, have fought angels and demons and each other and come out on top time after time. Who are broken and hurting and so very *damaged* but who can still love. Archetypes dredged up from a collective history of storytelling that goes millennia.

Heroes whose destiny compels them to fight, lose, suffer, regroup (or be reborn) to fight again. What more could anyone want? :) Plus, dear gods, they're *good* at this, and they can do it looking so *very* fine.

(You're not stupid, bb. You just see more of the good then the bad.) I've read some awesome commentary on this show from people who are finding all kinds of things in it that i never even guessed at. So that coin has two sides.

Boys are back! YES!!!

Exactly. I don't mean to say, "If they hate the show so much, why do they watch it?" That's pretty short-sighted, too, and (as you say further down in your comment), there is a lot of insightful, interesting and entertaining meta to be had in SPN fandom. It's just so counterproductive and self-defeating to spend so much time upset over where you wanted the show to go that you stop enjoying the journey. As long as I remember that, I do well.

I saw the spoilers coming out of Comic Con this summer (basically, Sam didn't look for Dean) and I got upset. I know better than to read spoilers, but I can't always stop myself. And that's still mostly what people are upset over--Sam abandaned his brother for some bitch and her bitch. I don't think that's all there is to the story, though. I'll certainly be a bit let down if it is, but then I'd be even more irritated if we learned everything that's happened to the brothers over the last year in one episode, too.

Let us chill, my sisters, and be about the brothers again. :D

OH, man, this. Spoilers seem to make people nutso, mostly because there's no context, there's no follow up, and people go wild with the speculation and the wondering. I stay as spoiler free as i possibly can, and all the con-reports and set-pictures and stuff i can't look at are driving me CRAZY!! :)

"...to spend so much time upset over where you wanted the show to go that you stop enjoying the journey."

YES YES YES. Fanfiction is for the way you want/wish/need the show to go. Show is the way it *does* go, and you have to either resign yourself to hating it and let it go, or you have to enjoy what is given and build it in other directions in your own headcannon/stories/art/vid/whatever.

I love to write, but i'm not going to say 'so and so is a crappy writer, i could do so much better!!' For all i know, if given the opportunity, my own 22 episode 'arc' could be as horrible as the worst criticism Show has ever gotten.

Yes, let us be all about the brothers, and not the hate. :)
