I'm totally with the Cas storyline and find it a hell of a lot more interesting than Sam's. What the hell is going on with Sm? And whence cometh the demon killing property of angel killing knifes?

They messed that thing up so badly!! And that was no end of a relationship! We know that thing is going to pop up again and at the most inconvenient time. Don turns out to be dead and a demon is possessing him! Amelia becomes a hunter, marries Sam and rides around in the Impala with them. roxy stabs herself in the throat!

You know, Naomi (keep wanting to call her Sam) was really scary in that bit. I confess, I really do like this side Angel story, at least it's moving along in an interesting way. Hisssss at Dean for dumping Benny and setting him up for fail.

I'm so easy, I was just happy that Sam chose Dean over Amelia and Dean chose Sam over Benny and the boys are sitting on the couch together and....yeah. Easy.

If we ever see Amelia again, it will be too soon. I wanted to make sense of that relationship, I really did. But it seriously never made any sense. Argh. And I feel kinda bad for Benny, but it had to go that way. I think I feel....relieved, in a way.

Oh gosh--I'm usually you in this thing, loving anything they do. I don't even really know why I was so upset with Show tonight. I don't want to see Dean kill Benny and I don't want them to act like everything is A-OK, even if they work together like a well-oiled machine...plus it really didn't feel like Sam chose Dean over Amelia so much as he just...didn't choose anything. Whereas Dean actively chose Sam over Benny.

Me too! And I was looking forward to angsty, torn between two loyalties kind of stories for Dean and Benny and this was just...beeh-hunh?

Okay, this is just a little bump in my road of squee--this is still one of my very favorite seasons and someoen is going to writte something that makes me go, "OOOOHHH, now I see!"

Okay!! Ooh, man. I LOVED. First, we had Benny calling Dean, his AA sponsor. And omg, poor Benny. He's out of his own time, he just lost a family member he was so very close to *and* he fell of the wagon, and he's calling Dean and it's so obvious he just needs that connection.....

And Dean wants to help him but he just cannot divide himself anymore, he *can't*, and his wee, sad face when he said goodbye....

And Sam said 'Jessica'. He *still* mourns her, fuck, that broke my heart, and he's trying so hard to have his 'normal' and 'safe' but he knows he can't, and that pisses him off, and he's angry at himself, and jealous of Dean&Benny, and guilty, and hey, he's rockin' the PTSD pretty hard, you know? Just like Dean. And they're *trying*, but dear gods, they are so tired....

And now, poor Castiel. He wants to atone, and to be forgiven, but he's being jerked around and fucked over and he's going to remember and have his heart broken all over again and these BOYS. So much emotion and so much pain and it's really very much like *life*, only with added extra monsters. I love that Dean chose Sam without making Sam feel guilty, and Sam chose Dean, ditto, and they're not *fixed* or terribly happy, but they're together and i luff them so.....

Sweetie, I liked that it wasn't easy, for any of them.I liked that you could see how not okay Sam was with what they'd done when it showed him and Amelia in that hotel room the next morning. That was not the face, or body language of a man happy in love. He felt guilty as heck and I was glad to see it happen.

I liked that, rough as things are still between Sam and Dean right now, they both made a conscious decision to stay together. Either one of them could have walked right out that door but they chose not to. That was a pretty damned big step and I was sooo glad to see it happen.

You're right, and I need to watch the ep again. Still, artistically, I thought that scene was weak. I didn't feel like the actors felt it. It's rare when I feel that way, but I find, especially when it comes to Jared, that he was doing things I didn't see on the first go-round. *sigh* I think I wanted too much this ep, and set myself up for crashing. We'll see when I watch it again.

Jared works the scene really hard but the lack of real chemistry between the two of them doesn't help, that's for sure. Why couldn't they bring back Sarah Blake if they needed a love interest for Sam this season? His going to her would have even made sense storywise and wouldn't have injured his character half as much as Amelia has.

You're right. There's no real chemistry--no sexual tension between the two. When they were snarking at each other it worked and I believed it. But deep abiding love? Not really there. Same as Dean and Lisa. How did that go from "Weekend At Bendy's" to "The Love of My Life?"

I know. It's not that I don't want them to have relationships with anyone other than themselves, I just want to be able to believe in them. Jessica, Madison, Sarah, heck, even Ruby sometimes, all made me believe Sam cared for them. Amelia, not so much.

I like Benny, I want them to have a good supporting cast. It makes it easier on Jensen and Jared not to have to be in every scene and it makes the stories richer for giving them new things to play off. We can manage to do it in our fiction, why can't the people making the big bucks do the same?

Oh dear God, I just watched it and wow, those scenes between Amelia and Sam were some of the worst written and worst acted I have seen on the show :-(( I love Jared and I love Sam but he really didn't seem to be trying at all, not that I could blame him, that dialogue was so bad. They did not look like two people who were in love at all. I feel really bad for the actress, what a lousy character and lousy storyline. Let's hope it's over now.

I have to say that Cas and angel stuff does have me interested, and this coming from someone who can't usually stand the angels! But I'm loving the Naomi character and that scene with Cas talking to Sam and Dean at the end, the blood trickling from his eye was deliciously creepy. I also appreciate that both Sam & Dean are already realising that something is up with Cas, yay for boys being smart for once!!!

I can't summon up much thoughts about the Dean/Benny stuff, just meh, okay, bye Benny ;-)

I felt the same way through that scene. I was embarrassed for the actress too, because people seemed to be so excited that she was aboard this season. I'm sure it's not the end of that but I hope what comes next has a little more sense attached to it. Unless the point was to show just how pointless it was for either of the boys to get involved with someone else in which case, score, Show.

I'm very much interested in the Angel/Cas stuff but I like the angels and I like Castiel. I thought that blood tear thing was creepy as hell too, along with the whole missing time thing/angelic interrogation for Cas. I was surprised that the guys picked up on it as soon as they did because bless them, they are thick as bricks when it comes to stuff like that. :)

As for Benny, I'm all conflicted. I liked Benny but he depends too much on Dean and Dean's the last person to depend on in that way. He's just too fucked up over Sam, and in thinking that he owes the world something. I'm just worried that Benny will fuck up in some way that Dean will blame himself over.

The saddest thing is that I wasn't even that upset because I hardly care anymore. I want to see Sam and Dean on my screen, but this other shit...so what?

I was more saddened by Dean breaking it off with Benny than I was over Sam deciding not to go back to Amelia. God, that storyline was so stupid! I mean, it could have been okay if there had been even a smidgen of chemistry between Sam and Amelia (or JAred and whatshername, or whatever), but I wasn't feeling it. Sam kept saying he loved her but neither of them was selling it. And I was hoping for a while that there was more to that whole thing like maybe Amelia was a demon or an angel or that Don was brought back to life by the angels to get Sam back into the game or whatever, but no...it's just a shitty little soap opera manipulation. I mean really, what was actually supposed to entice Sam back to Amelia? Some sordid affair? Her leaving her loving husband for Sam? Why? She doesn't even know what he does when he's not with her. I just couldn't wrap my head—and certainly not my heart—around any of it. And now it just feels like a huge waste of time, sort of "Whew...so that's finally over so we can get on with our lives." I mean, make up your mind, Show—either Sam wants a normal life and he's pissed that hunting keeps taking that away from him, or he's actually addicted to the adrenaline rush of hunting and he doesn't want to give that up to settle down. Do you really expect me to believe that the "mystery of Castiel" is THAT big of a deal to Sam? I don't.

I know. I kind of think that the blatant adultery was supposed to convince us of how hot for each other they really are, but they sure didn't sell me on it. And I know it's not because they can't show much sexiness onscreen because it's on the Teenybopper Network, because you and I are both old enough to remember smoking hot couples with incredible chemistry back when EVERY sex scene was a "fade to black before the goodies came out." You know?

On the other hand, the other stuff "going on in the background" might be what's making it seem less intense. We KNOW Sam's not going to stay with Amelia in the long run already so there's no real suspense there, but it's hard to see how they could have made it more poignant—made us CARE about that relationship—without detracting from everything going on with Castiel, Crowley and Kevin, not to mention Dean and Benny.

I just got to watch it. I think we might actually be done with Amelia. I'm not sure how they could bring her back in a way they haven't used before. If Don is possessed, then it's the Jimmy Novack story. If she is threatened by Crowley, it's the Lisa story. I hope I'm right because she bored me to tears.
