Queen of the Fitting Room.

"Your friend thinks you look good in that outfit? Your friend? Is not your friend."
"Go back in the fitting room and get those clothes, your mother doesn't work here."
"I don't make commission so I'll let you know, those pants look like they're trying to escape from your ass."
"Sweetie, no matter what your kids are telling you, that outfit makes you look sexy. Nothing wrong with looking sexy. Rock that as long as you can."
"That looks fabulous--now go out there, be brave and get it in a size smaller. Yes you can."
"You're my favorite customer today, look at you folding the clothes all perfect."

Working the fitting room--it's a living. :)

Sadly, I look *exactly* like that grumpy cat.

SISTER!!! I did my tour of duty working retail in the clothing departments, and the worst part about it was cleaning up after people, when they leave fitting rooms trashed and knock clothes off racks then walk right by. I've gotten good at refolding shirts. I work in a library now, and though we still have messes to clean up, it's not as bad as retail.

SISTER!!
You feel my pain! how in the world can someone knock every item off a shelf and then walk past like "Wat?" WHEN YOU'RE STANDING RIGHT THERE???

*takes breath, gulps coffee* Coffee centers me. I drink lots. *GGG*

I definitely feel your pain. I think the attitude people take about leaving messes behind for the employee to clean up is along the line of, "Well, that's what they're paid to do, right?" Too bad we can't hang signs up saying, "YOUR MOM DOESN'T WORK HERE. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!!!"

Honey, don't get me started. I can rant for hours!

Oh, my poor, grizzled Snuggles--beat down and tempered by the flames of ignorance and laziness to form: the perfect sassing machine! "She don't give a single, microscopic fuck what you think, and, no, those hangers are not free. PUT DOWN THE HANGERS! Yeah, go fuck yourself. Have a nice day--assholes."

*snuggles* I served my time in the food industry, the filthy, scabby, white trash younger sibling of retail. I learned two things: one, Don't Fucking Do That; and two, people are unbelievably, surprisingly resourcefully STUPID (and cruel). In short, food industry made me realize how much I hate folks. Good to know. I--guess?

Also, kitty! *pets kitty verrrrrrry carefully*

Food Industry!

SpN could have sent Dean to work in a food place and it would have been just as traumatizing as forty years in hell. Did it one summer, swore as god is my witness I'd rather live in a cardboard box under a bridge before I ever did food service again.

Meow. Meh. Grr.
