My friends list is *full* of folks who aren't here anymore or who have wandered away from this place. If I defriend these no-longer active accounts, are they still counted as friends on my profile page? It seems silly to have this huge count when it's not even true. Though I know that personally I'm more comfortable cold-friending people when I see they have a billion friends--kind of that slip in all unnoticed thing. I know this is just going to end up another round of me unsuccessfully trying to clean house. The last time I defriended folks, I think I cut three journals that hadn't been updated since 2006. I'm such a doof. I mean--they're not even *there*! They won't care or notice. But what if they do and I hurt their feelings???

Why am I such a weinie?

I'm this way about picking one brand of coffee over the other, too.

Well I don't think you'll hurt the feelings of people who aren't active anymore, but it's totally reasonable to worry about the emotional state of coffee. I know this is true, because it is full of caffeine, and that makes coffee unstable and twitchy. You don't want to upset that sort of personality. Daaaangerous.
