It's amazing how we can adjust to things. Some people can't do the contact lens thing--my brother couldn't, but I could. My eye doctor tested me to see which was the dominant eye for reading and which was the dominant eye for distance, then prescribed the lenses I needed to fit that.
Whether I was reading or looking in the distance, I was always peripherally aware of a bit of blurriness coming from the other eye, but I could drive, read and use the computer, and that's what mattered. I went with that option for years until I had laser surgery.
