You know I love Sam, I love him almost as much as Dean loves him, except of course given a chance, I'd jump that, but tonight? I just wanted to slap that boy silly. Both of them!! I'll say no more. *glares at TV, snivels silently*

Do we have to beg him to fix them, or would it be okay to tune his ass up like a cheap piano? I really can't stand that man. I feel like we're hostage to some plan of his to outshine Kripke. He didn't have to try that hard. *angry pout*

I don't understand--what is Sam's point? I think no matter what he's saying, what he means to do is punish Dean. Everyone is asking an awful lot of Dean. It's making me mad that folks see Dean as an abuser. Tell me any sibling who loves the others who wouldn't do every single thing they could to save their sibling? If only Dean didn't feel like such a failure. BOYS!!!

I know!! I'm like - Sam, you went into the trials saying 'i'm going to show you there's a light at the end of the tunnel!!' And suddenly you want to die? Wtf? When Dean came into your head (via Gadreel) and said 'i can fix this, just say yes' - Sam said yes. So i just don't know.

And to say he'd let Dean die.... Well, that might have been the smart choice, sometime, because look what troubles they've gotten themselves into, but that was just.... It was cruel. Because for Dean to be told his life has no worth to Sam is like telling him to just go kill himself. I am baffled. And mad. And damnit, Sam!! Stoppit!

And Dean - i get where you're coming from, i do, all the time, but you gotta know that Sam sees your devotion sometimes as a way to tell him he's not capable of dealing with anything himself. My gods. Self esteem issues out the wazoo, both of them!!!
*flails*

That's everything in a nutshell, right there. I understood when Sam said he was ready to die--I can see coming to that point and being sure that you've done everything you could and letting go. But now he's punishing Dean and I'm not really sure why except that in Sam's mind I'm *sure* he doesn't think that he is. Because he really doesn't understand Dean. And yeah, I'm sure the weight of Dean's love must be suffocating sometimes, omg, do I ever get that. Dean honey, let me give you a tip--let go, for god's sake. He'll come back.

I was mad at Sam, especially at the end when he said he wouldn't save Dean. It's sort of par for the course for him, though. Didn't he leave Dean in Purgatory while he started a new life with that woman whose name I can't remember?

Sam is just...well, full of shit. Though considering what happened when he tried to save Dean from hell--demon blood drinking, demon sexing, and then disrespecting Dean who supposedly he was doing it all for--maybe he's making the right choice. Sam's plans never work out the way he wants.

It just bothers me that Sam is so dismissive of Dean. Considering how much Dean has done for Sam, it's just so sad to see Sam act like this.

Yeah...maybe it's guilt on Sam's part? Look at everything Dean's given up for Sam. Or maybe it's the ultimate little brother's, "I didn't *ask* you to do that!"

I should have a dime for every time I heard *that* when I was a kid. I'd be rich today.

I don't think my sister and I ever had that kind of relationship. We barely spoke to each other when we were teenagers, we were just so different.

yeah, those teenage years are horrible! My sister and I were so close until she hit junior year and then she chose *me* to rebel against instead of out parents. I guess I was the safe one. Thank god things got better when we got older.

It turns out that having several states between us works really well, too. We talk on the phone and text, and when we occasionally visit, we really don't fight anymore.

I have faith, sweetie, it'll be okay, I promise. Those darned Winchesters and their total inability to actually talk to each other.

I wish that they had written what Sam said better. I don't believe for a minute he meant he wouldn't save Dean. He's proven in the past that he'd move heaven and earth to save him, Faith immediately jumps to mind.

I honest to god think he meant that, if Dean really was ready to die, if it was what he wanted, that Sam wouldn't stop him. That he'd respect his wishes, which, we've gotta admit, Dean didn't do. They just had him say it in the worse way possible. Sometimes I want to shake the writers and ask if them if they really mean to make sure that parts of the fandom hates Sam. It makes no earthly sense otherwise.

*hugs*

I totally agree with you. I know he didn't mean that the way it sounded either. That's the thing. We, the audience, knows he didn't mean that because we aren't wrapped up in it the same way Dean is. At ground zero, that must have sounded AWFUL to Dean, like a total rejection of him and everything he's done. But we *know* Sam didn't mean it quite like that.

I think in a way, it was the same as Sam saying he was ready to die--he didn't mean he wanted to die, he wasn't suicidal, but he was tired as hell, and ready for some peace, deserving of some peace. He knew where he was going, and probably how it would play out and I couldn't really blame him. I also think it would be in character for him to resent Dean for that. *throws up hands*

BOYS! They're too complicated sometimes!

I found the whole thing very unpsetting. Poor Dean. Yes, it's true. Dean doesn't want to be without Sam, but jeez that was mean of Sam to say it.

I feel like this whole thing is leading up to why Dean could have the mark of Cain.

I think that Sam meant to knock Dean back, startle him, and maybe skewer him a bit, but I'm not sure he gets just what that meant to Dean.

I wonder about this Mark of Cain thing, myself. Are they leading up to Dean being capable of killing Sam? Or letting Sam die in some way? I don't know. I sure didn't buy that Cain killed his brother out of love so what's the deal there?

God, I hope not. I am done with either of the boys dying now. Each time they come back it's just too painful and it's getting worse.

One of my favorite stories I've ever read in this fandom had to do with two hunters being saved by Sam and Dean many, many years from now and they'd become immortal. Still together, still brothers, still doing the family business. If they don't want them to die on the show give us that, don't just keep bringing them back and tearing them down more each time. Highlander proved that you can have an immortal character and still keep the drama. They certainly don't have many friends that they'd be leaving behind at this point. *sob*

I finally managed to sit down and watch the last episode and all I can say is I'm real sick of Sam and his continuous BS at the moment. Did Dean make a bad decision yeah sure, and like he said he doesn't always think it through. But watching Sam repeatedly disregard him and then going on and not searching for him when he was in purgatory just makes me so mad.

If I was Dean i think i would have washed my hands off of him by now.
