Thanks to you, I finally got off my hindparts and posted Firebird to SSA. Only two years after I wrote the sucker! Woo-hoo! Go me!

I reread the story last night as I was going to sleep and have to say again how fabulous it is. I still don't feel like I understand Alexei's actions toward Kirill at the end after seems to have figured out that he needs Kirill (aka, the I love you, No, I don't. Ha ha! incident). I was reminded of how well Kirill's philosophical stance worked for the story. I adore that he fashions Alexei into a god. Fabulous.

The style of your writing and luscious details and description is just as wonderful as I remembered. For all it's violence - and that revenge scene with Boris really hits high on the gross-out meter - I really enjoy reading it.

I don't mean to sound like I'm giving backhanded compliments. I just am acknowledging that it is a challenging story. I hope you know that it pretty much rocks my world. :) What a treat to reread it.

I know that bit bothered you, I see it still does, *g* but I saw that whole thing as Alexei torturing Kirill, and himself as well. He just won't admit that. He's a strange boy. *nods*

I still have to finish young Alexei's story, and I've got some research and notes for bringing them to America. I finally got an idea that will work, I think! YaY me!
