Am I boring? I'm afraid I'm boring. I've been driving Mr. insane, worrying that I've become less attractive in my old age. Sort of wattley and flabby and droopy. He insists that I'm still cute but what does he know? Everywhere I go, guys from eighteen to forty are like, excuse me ma'am, do you need help crossing the street, lifting your purse, crawling off that curb--what the fuck ever--I am, to paraphrase Eliot Weston, invisible to teenage boys.
SIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH.
Why am I waiting until 53 to freak about turning 50?
In much much happier and fandom related biz--
wednesday100 had a great turnout for the Cinderella prompt! Go read them, there are some tasty little truffles to be had!

8/25/07 06:11 pm (UTC)Secondly, you are much more than just your appearance. If I have learned anything from having to dump a guy who thought I was fat, it is that no matter what you look like, you will not only find a man somewhere who very much likes how you look, but will even love you for who you are.
Thirdly, don't underestimate the value of getting ignored by horny teenagers and twenty-somethings. The way guys try to roll up on women these days quite frankly makes me wish I was at all attracted to women so I could switch teams. Young men (and this is a generalization) have no sense of tact, smoothness, romanticism, or even basic respect.

8/25/07 06:32 pm (UTC)here's the weird thing--I keep worrying that Mr. Roxy will get tired of being with an old woman, but my kid tells me I'm nuts, in her words, "Dad's old too."
So I think, love is making me stupid and blind, and to me he looks just like he did when we first met--maybe there's hope that he thinks the same way? LOL!
See, getting old makes you crazy! *G*
