Call me a fool, call me crazycakes if you want but I loved this ep. Probably not the way they wanted me too, but it was completely fascinating and I feel rejuvenated--they still love each other--so much!!! So much bitterness, so much loved turned upside down.
I was happy that Clark got him some. Actually, happy as I was that Clark got laid—hey, I'm happy for anyone getting the good--but that was pretty stupid, really. I think canon established that Clark and Lois get it on with no problems and by the looks of it they get it good. This sonic boom business was the writers inner asshole little boys coming out to play. It took AliemBoy a long time to get the hint too. Me, I would have been all, "You're super? Thank fuck! Strip. Bend over." But that's just me.
It galls me beyond all belief that Clark takes Lionel into his confidence--it's stupid, it's as if the boy doesn't have a brain or an ounce of self-preservation. (Hello, SV? Being good does not equal dumb) Personally, I think in a way that Lionel warning Clark was just his version of screwing his son's woman again.
Lex, Lex Lex, I liked you in this ep. You looked gooood. You were hot. The scene where Lex confronted Clark in the farmhouse? Oh my--spit, rinse, repeat. *That* my dears was classic hoyay, even if it was turned on it's ear…and pretty darn hot even so. I took the kiss as misdirected passion. I know who he was thinking of. *nods*
As far as my girl, Hamsterina, I'm telling you, that crazy bitch is not Lana. I'm not even talking Clona--she seemed too OOC to me, almost as if I was writing her. There was nothing in her character up to this point that indicated to me that she'd behave this callously at all, unless they're finally admitting she's some kind of mutant and now it's Crazy Time. I don't like her, but still—they didn't seem to be building *this* kind of person at all. Does being mildly self-centered cause you to get like this? Is that what they're trying to say? Lex has always been self centered (though on him it was cute and consisted mostly of spoiling Clark because it made Lex feel good) and he's Evil. And now, Lana seems to be Evil. Only Clark is good and he always puts others first. *koff* I know right? They're ALL self-centered. Ah well. Some one who is smarter and more articulate than Yer Mother will sort if out for us, thanks goodness.
Anyhoo, loved it. I know, it might not seem like it, but I watched it real time with my chair turned to the TV and not the keyboard, and my mouth may have been slightly open, well, 'cause I was talking to the set and this time I wasn't screaming die bitch die meaning the whole show....
Geez…Lois was really fun and funny, and hey--better looking. Fuck, I think all the birds in my neighborhood just died and the moon is bleeding.....

11/9/07 05:34 am (UTC)Editor boy is just fucking annoying. Tonight he added creepy to his acting repertoire. Erk! Hate him! But other than him I really had fun with this ep.
SPN was fun too. "You stink of sex" HA!

11/9/07 05:46 am (UTC)I don't know what they have planned for Lana or anything, but I'm renaming this ep "SuperBitch". Seriously, I can not buy Lana as evil. I think it has more to do with KK than Lana, but... :P DIE LANA!!!!!!
K. Feel better now.
CLEX LIVES!!!! :D And Lex was just totally the SEX! Clark was pretty too. :D
And Chloe threatened Lana! WhooooHOooooooo!!!! :D

11/9/07 06:05 am (UTC)I wondered what her fans think of this development. Many people seem to love her being evil, though mostly, I think the character played this way just makes KK move her face and body a little more and that's what makes it seem interesting.

11/9/07 06:44 am (UTC)My major problem with the whole Lana being angry with Clark being in love with her "image" than her is that I really think that she helped built and maintain that image and used it when it was convenient to HER. She wants what that image gives her but wasn't willing to live up to it. She wanted things both ways and I wish Clark had called her on that aspect of the problem.

11/9/07 07:04 am (UTC)I think I have to agree, Lana did depend on Clark worshipping the ground she walked on. the vibe I got from her was that Clark was always going to be there as her fallback.

11/9/07 06:11 am (UTC)Not the world's best episode, but given the framework within which it had to function, it wasn't too shabby. And there was plenty of CLex. The most important thing? I wasn't bored.

11/9/07 07:33 am (UTC)And yeah...the SUPER SEX (heroic porn music plays in the background)...that gave me the giggles. It made me think of the scene in Jurassic Park where they're looking glass, and the water shakes. ROFL. Just think...people in Metropolis are all trying to finish their darn jigsaw puzzles...sooooo close...down to the last piece, and Clark reaches the summit.
Oh dear...

11/9/07 11:47 am (UTC)I love that Lex is so comfortable in Clark's house, and not only that, but watching him if you recall the p.ov. shot before Lex showed himself. Hot. Ditto Clark still comfortable in Lex's mansion and not even being walked in the last two episodes.
It galls me beyond all belief that Clark takes Lionel into his confidence--it's stupid, it's as if the boy doesn't have a brain or an ounce of self-preservation.
But they've all but literally conflated Jor-El and Lionel now (actually they literally did in Hidden, which commenced Lionel holding the key information for Clark since then). Clark's literally been forced, in the last two seasons, to go to Lionel for sensitive information and extraterrestrial issues that only he (or Martha and Chloe) can help him with. And Lionel has been all too willing to help. Lionel is not "good", nor is he flat out evil at this point; he's no longer at either simple extreme. Clark is going to have to make alliances or have detentes with people on different moral planes in order to get things done (he learned that wrt Ollie, and recently demonstrated a willingness to continue a detente with Lex in Action). I don't think it's stupid considering the build up the last two seasons or from a pragmatic perspective (as long as Lionel doesn't devolve back to S3!evil-Lionel).
About Lana...I really wonder, especially in light of the blatant Lillian parallel last ep (who seemed to have post partum psychosis) and Lionel's "disturbed" comment, if they're going to go with the insanity route, because of the hormones that were pumped into her. Because it *is* a radical change, which is why I didn't fault Clark and Chloe for not jumping to crazy ass conclusions about her (because they are CRAZY ASS leaps relative to who Lana used to be).

11/10/07 04:06 pm (UTC)Maybe I'm reading too much into the glove thing. Maybe that was just a throwaway, but in my conspiracy filled mind, I thought it was a warning. *G* Can you tell I was an X-Files fan? Nice bit this week, with Lionel exercising his hand, I thought. Very different than instant healing from a gunshot to the knee or whatever other damage a character sustained in any ep ever.
