Why won't youtube work for me? I've done everything they suggested and nothing works. I can't see any vids and I'm missing all the good stuff. Youtube is the DEVIL.
Google Chrome has its fans, as does Mozilla Firefox.
Those browsers also have versions that run on MAC computers, so if you're a Mac head one of those may work better than Apple's Safari browser. But Safari recently also had an update, so updating that might be helpful if that's what you're using.
I have Windows, yes. I think I'm using the latest version of Internet Explorer, but I'll see. Oy, I'm batting around in the dark like a blind thing here.
Of the two, I like it better than Firefox. I just don't like Mozilla's interface. It looks... chunky? I'm not sure it's the right word for it, and I guess it works okay, but I've had problems with it. (Have to use it for work and I don't like it much.)
But if you want to try Mozilla Firefox get that here:
its not consolation, but I have the same problem with some vids too. its not flash, and its not browser related, after all, I have tested it on all of them. its also not the usual "sony blabala, not in your country".
its simply telling me I cant watch the vid, while other people can see it!
its sooo stupid.
the only way its been working for me, is to use a proxy: https://vvd1.net/
put in the link of that youtube vid, enter the captcha, and enter the youtube link again, and its been working for me.

8/2/10 09:47 pm (UTC)Java also just did an update, not sure if Youtube uses Java (but it's likely), so maybe update that as well?
*HUGS*
I feel your pain.

Do you get an error? I want to try and help...
Have you tried a different browser?
I'm assuming you're using windows since most of the world does, but even if you're not loading a different browser may help too.
I do tech support for an ISP in real life and things like this can be tricky. You may need to update your browser or even use a different one.
If you're on Windows and using an IE version other than 8, some websites have stopped supporting the earlier browsers. Try updating to that version:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx?cachereset=true&WT.srch=1
If you're already on 8, try a different browser.
