I fell off the earth for a minute, but I'm back! I rewatched Show to see if I missed anything and it was even more awesome the second time around! Don't judge me but I'm feeling the Benny/Dean so hard! Which means that Benny's going to turn out to be a back-stabbing, stalker/user, blood-sucking monster out to wreck Dean's life.
I'm off to respond to comments I've received, and stalk other folks LJs for their Show Watch Feels. Whooo-ha!

10/6/12 04:59 am (UTC)Oh, and is it just me or does the "shutting all the doors to hell forever" plotline feel like backsliding? The show kind of went from lots of monsters and one mysterious "thing that killed Mom & Jess" to a couple of demons, to a lot of demons, to a lot of demons AND angels AND the Apocalypse, to more Apocalypse and *Lucifer*, and then we start a new story line where we go from the father of each monster race, to the mother of all monster races, to the evil creatures that roamed the Earth and were locked away before Lucifer even fell (if I'm understanding my timelines correctly), to... lots of demons again. It feels anti-climatic.

10/6/12 05:30 am (UTC)I thought the evolution made sense, and I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with the "Destroy All Monsters" line. SpN never lays its cards out until more than a few stories into the season and I like it. I'm in the minority that I loved the last few seasons. Folks get pissed about them but they obviously never watched Buffy or Angel--talk about some painful fucking seasons--or the entirety of SV. Lord...
I wish they'd gone another way with the Cas storyline but in the end, no one rides in the car full time but Sam and Dean.

10/6/12 06:05 am (UTC)I would just like to take a second to point out that even though other peeps have apparently not watched Buffy & Angel (or maybe just forgot how bad it got) the SPN writers clearly have seen them, and Firefly/Serenity too. A guy with no soul and therefore lacking in a moral compass goes forth to reclaim his soul for someone he loves and succeeds, but is driven mad because of it. Sam and Dean (brotherly love, dammit. I am very anti-incest) or Spike and Buffy. A beloved character gets infect by (an) Old One(s), evil from before the dawn of man, and their body is slowly eaten away from the inside, being taken over by the monster, until they ultimately die. Cas or Fred? An organization comes up with a drug that causes those who ingest it to become so apathetic and complaint that they literally sit around doing nothing, except in a small percentage of cases, where the subjects become crazy and filled with *rage*. The Alliance and Miranda or the Leviathans? An that is one of the reasons why I don't like seasons 6&7. It's just lazy writing.
Yeah I get that, but if they have to get rid of him, could they just do it and not go back and forth? He's evil, but then he redeems himself, but then he dies, but then he's actually still alive but he has amnesia but the he doesn't but then he asorbs Sam's crazy (wtf?) and goes catatonic, but then he's not anymore, but then it turns out he's still not really himself, but then he's going to try anyway, but then he goes to purgatory and dies or something, and five bucks says but then he comes back again. Like I said, exhausting.

10/6/12 06:33 am (UTC)I guess I was thinking of this:
But if we think of demons as the top of the monster food chain and all the supernatural beasties are related it could be a DAM plot. But most likely, it's not. ;)
