I've been told it's a little depressing though. *G*

Bloody Kent (http://roxymissrose.livejournal.com/410228.html), a pirate story with Clark as the pirate captain--it was a lot of silly fun!

that's harsh and violent and frightening, and i read every word. (i'm kind of a wuss, too.) it amazed me that you were able to reach an almost-happy ending. poor dog. glad he has his lex!

Why, thank you very much! Thank you for taking the chance with it! It is sort of a happy ending in a way, isn't it? It's much nicer than the ending I thought about writing--I was really on the edge of killing the Kents. I also condidered the big happy ending but that didn't seem credible.

Gee, your icon is perfect for this Clark!

I OBJECT!

I strongly disagree on your summary over at SSA!!!
*throws a fit!*
It's not a pleasant or uplifting story, there's no moral, no lesson, and no happy ending.

how can ,..err. no... how dare you to say that?!?!
beauty or pleasantry, or uplifting is in the eye of the beholder!!

there is a moral, a lesson, and even a happy ending!
clex is together = happy ending
everyone can turn anyone into anything = the lesson
we are all dogs = moral!

other than that, you are still the only person, i will ever allow to *dips* me *g*

Did I tell you how completely amazing this story was? It seriously blew me away and this is SO NOT my kind of story. But, in a way I have a thing for sociopath!Clark, and from the way you set up every bit of how he came to that point, it was a totally believeable characterization. Even the Lionark stuff didn't squick me (although it was very VERY disturbing) enough to make me stop reading. And trust me, Lionark (that isn't non-con) is one of those DIRTYWRONG things that make me not read a fic, and you brought it together. I..seriously want to print it out and bind it and put it on my bookshelf.

oh goodness! *hughughug* thank you, that's the kind of thing that keeps you writing. Me, I love an effed up Clark--*koff* no kidding *koff*, it's kind of interesting to twist this incredibly good person and see what happens. I think he's still very sweet in this story, I think the Clark in Firebird is way more of a sociopath than this one.
This story is pretty much full of stuff that had me wincing, and it came out of my brain...which is a leeetle scary when you think about it.

Don't trust little old ladies! you don't know what they're thinking!!

I'm not sure what to say about this story. I never saw Jet Li's Unleashed because animal abuse is one thing that reduces me to tears rapidly. I think I kept reading this because I needed to know that it didn't end with Clark staying like that, living his life as Lionel's dog. It did feel like trying to swallow bitter medicine at times. The scene when Lionel comes back from Japan was the most disturbing/abhorrent for me in terms of my reaction. I have an enduring admiration for people who can write in such prose that it stirs up such heavy emotional responses. Even if I hate the feeling the writing generates I always appreciate the ability to write for it. I think I better go and read something light and fluffy now to wash off the lingering sense of dirt. But thanks for writing this...I bet it wasn't easy at times.

A lot of people had the same reaction to the story that you did. I've been told once you start reading it, it's hard to stop, and it's not a lot of fun. Unleashed was that way for me, a difficult movie to watch in the beginning, if you really thought about what it was that was happening to Jet Li's character. It was pretty hideous.

Writing this story *was* awful at times, very very emotionally draining. I remember very well what it was like.

Fortunately I have light and fluffy here too! Lots of it!
Just out of curiosity, if you'd read The Dog first, would you have wanted to friend me? :)

Hmmmm...interesting question. I think so because of the standard of writing, although I think I would have checked first to see if you had any non-angsty stories....you know just so I could get a little respite from the 'hurt'. If all you wrote was on 'The Dog' level in terms of angst I'm not so sure. I remember as I was reading the more horrific scenes thinking to myself (especially given all the character build up you wrote from when Clark/Lex was growing up) surely Roxy's building up to some truly massive revenge scene here. I started to think about all the things Clark would do in the scene where he finally turns on Lionel and that he'd be helped by Lex and that it would be incredibly sadistic and no doubt highly abusive in some sexual way at the same time. Then I imagined the long process of Clark getting back to that happy place before Lionel took him. But ultimately I think that was just me projecting :-) Clark, being the kickedpuppy!Clark that he is, would never go to the lengths I had imagined bringing down on Lionel. But perhaps Lex would because Lex has a side of his father. You'd probably just have to show him in video footage of what Lionel did to Clark when he got back from Japan. Which by the way I'm glad you didn't give us the details of...I could barely swallow Lex's follow up behaviour that was horrific enough. But that would have been all the extra motivation Lex needed. Anyway....my mind is rambling again. Good story but thank goodness for The Young Kryptonian!

I have to start off by kissing your virtual hand while I'm on my knees because that story was one of the most amazing, disturbed, and oh so wonderful fic I've read! You are such a talented writer and I am simply baffled by how much I enjoyed this fic. I saw the movie once, I remembered that I stayed up late to finish it and simply fell in love with it, but I forgot about it until I stumbled across this fic. Now I'm going to go out and buy it! But this fic brought that movie and that idea to a new level! Bravo!

Another fic down on catching up with your stuff. This was intense and amazing. I was really uncomfortable at times, but the plot is very well executed, and I'm glad that Lex was able to take control and help Clark. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, thank you for reading it! It is meant to be an uncomfortable story and definitely parts of it were incredibly hard to write. It's a lovely thing to get feedback on the older stories--this made my day!

I conquered this one over the weekend. You are such an amazing and talented writer. I'm in awe.

I really liked the story; it was so well thought out and plotted. The beginning; Clark as a young boy being taken was so sad. The fight scenes were very dramatic and very vivid and of course, the Clex was great!

One thing; why didn't Clark reconcile with his parents in the end?

Wow, what's really weird is I just finished re-reading it myself, because I wanted to go back to the end, and explore the bit with Clark's parents a little.

Thank you so very much, your comment is blush-making and you're very kind!

I wrote that ending so many times, almost always Clark and his parents falling on each other, so happy to see each other again at last...but Clark was taken at pre-school age, and told for the next 12 years that the people he lived with before Lionel didn't want him, threw him away...he associated his parents with a sense of bad things happening (breaking his mom's wrist the night he was taken) and the lies Lionel told him. He was conditioned to believe and need Lionel and in the end he transferred that to Lex, and Lex never pushed Clark to understand what had happened to him. Clark didn't have the ability to reconcile with them.

Yes. That makes sense. It's unrealistic to think that he would just fall into their arms and "be home". You're right.
I guess in my imaginary Part 2-he works at re-builing a relationship with his parents. :)

I finished translating The Dog. It’s fuckin' amazing... impressive... heart-breaking. It makes me cry and laugh, love and hate. Your fanfic is the best one among others about Clex. Thanks a lot from Russian Fandom. And look, this is a cover, made by one of Dog’s fan.

Cool, isn’t it?

P.S. Don’t you mind if I continue translating Unleashed? :)

Oh WOW!!!! That is *SO* cool! Please tell the artist just how much I LOVE that cover!!!

I admit, I'm very flattered that The Dog has rated that much attention! And yes, I certainly don't mind if you translate Unleashed. Thank you so much for asking and thank you so much for sharing the beautiful art. Would you mind asking the artist if it'd be okay to post the art in my LJ?
